Asma Bashir is the managing attorney at Merchant Law Firm. She has more than a decade of experience in the areas of immigration and naturalization.
Her immigration practice focuses on employment based (H-1B, L-1A, L-1B, O-1, EB-1A, EB-1B, EB-1C, EB-2/EB-3, TN, E-2, PERM, NIW, EB5) and family based visas (K-1, F-1, F-2A, F-2B, F3, F4). In her capacity as an immigration attorney she assists domestic and international clients who need to hire foreign born employees, reunite with their overseas family members or petition for investment based immigration.
She has experience of working both as an in house immigration specialist and as an attorney for small to medium size tech companies. Her expertise include drafting training manuals for HR managers from immigration perspective, filing complex H-1Bs, intra-company transfer visas, audits for labor certificates and employment based immigrant visas.
While working on family based immigration petitions, Asma realized that changes in marital status or family structure could affect a client’s immigration status. Clients who are faced with complex legal issues involving immigration and family law can count on Asma Bashir’s deep expertise in the areas of dissolution of marriage , DVRO and victim based visas such as U-visa and VAWA. Lastly Asma’s experience in handling debt settlement negotiations and bankruptcy proceedings can help clients who are in need of debt relief.
